Parental Rights and Education
Strengthening Families, Securing the Future
I believe that parental rights are fundamental to a free and strong society. Parents have the God-given responsibility and authority to raise, guide, and shape the lives of their children. This is not a role that belongs to government—it belongs to families. Protecting parental rights as a standalone principle is essential to preserving freedom, accountability, and the values that hold our communities together.
At the same time, parental rights in education play an equally critical role in shaping the future of our children and our nation. Education is one of the most important areas where parents must have a clear voice, meaningful involvement, and the ability to make decisions that reflect the needs of their child. Every child is different, and parents are best positioned to understand how their children learn, grow, and succeed.
These two principles—parental rights and parental rights in education—are not separate issues. They are deeply connected. When parents are empowered at home and in the classroom, children benefit from consistency, support, and direction. When families are respected, education becomes more effective, and outcomes improve.
I believe we must reinforce the role of parents as the primary decision-makers in their children’s lives while ensuring they are active partners in the educational process. This means respecting their authority, listening to their concerns, and ensuring they are never excluded from decisions that impact their child’s future.
Strong families create strong students, and strong students build a strong nation. By protecting parental rights and strengthening their role in education, we are investing in the long-term success of our communities and the future of our country.
I will always stand to defend the role of parents, support their involvement in education, and ensure that families remain at the center of every decision that impacts their children.
